Recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Day
Thursday, September 30th was a day spent understanding further about Canada’s past, present and looking into our future. We looked at what we knew, some misconceptions we have and looked at new learning around Residential Schools. The read aloud “Shi-Shi-etko” by Nicola I. Campbell was a great story that conveyed some feelings around the subject and helped us further understand why we wear orange on this day. Here are a few of our students showing their support by wearing orange.
